Continental Access – Tech Tip Of The Week (6/6/2013)

Be very careful while selecting and installing a Network Interface Board for the Continental Controllers.

There are different types of Network Adaptors available. The Network Interface Boards for the Super Two and Accelerator are keyed differently. Trying to install the incorrect one can cause damage to the device.

Below is a guide for the available network adaptors:

CICP1300NETBD – Network Interface Board used on the Super Two Controller (MUST BE PURCHASED SEPARATELY)

CICP18ACCNETBD – Network Interface Board used on the Accelerator Board (MUST BE PURCHASED SEPARATELY)

CICE1996 – Lantronix Micro Serial Server Lan Adaptor (UDS-1100) –  Used on a Microterm, Miniterm, Smarterm, Superterm and Turbo Superterm (MUST BE PURCHASED SEPARATELY).

Note: The Lantronix Micro Serial Server is an external device which is shipped with a Programming ONLY cable. You must purchase a separate polling cable (Universal Cable Part # CI-RFQ0001) for the Lantronix Micro Serial Server. The Programming ONLY cable included does not meet the correct wire specifications for polling.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION REGARDING THE NEW CICP2800 (8-16 DOOR CONTROLLER) WHICH WILL BE AVAILABLE SHORTLY

The Network Interface Board (CICP18ACCNETBD) will be INCLUDED with this controller.
